Assistant Studio Manager (Part-Time)
We are looking for a diligent member of staff to help with the day-to-day running of our ceramics café in Woking. The assistant manager of our pottery café will need to be adaptable, pro-active and enjoy working with people as part of a small friendly team. Direct customer interaction, shop supervision, admin duties and manual operations are all part of the daily expectations.
Contracted – approx. 20 hrs per week with flexible working days (to be rostered 4 weeks in advance, including at least two weekends per month).
Overtime will also be available (and expected), during busy periods. Busy periods include weekends and school holidays. Please note that due to Covid-19 our opening times are currently changeable, and may also include evenings.
Full training on studio procedures will be provided.
Responsibilities and Duties

Direct customer services in a pottery painting studio environment including serving drinks and advising on pottery painting.

Glazing of ceramics and loading of the kiln (training provided)

Management of till systems and cash handling

Management of customer orders and collections

Cleaning and maintenance of the premises

Assisting customers with baby hand and footprints

Taking deliveries, stocking the shelves and some stock control

Opening and closing the premises where required

Some overseeing of other staff as well as lone-working will be expected
Qualifications and Skills
Customer service or retail experience is essential.
GCSE Maths and English grades C and above.
Although we do not expect direct qualification in ceramics or the arts, the desired candidate should have an interest and passion for the subject.
